English in Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto

English language is a key issue in British schools. All students from kindergarten to the end of compulsory education are required to study in one way or another. The study of English at a higher level continues to be popular, but not for everyone.
Most of the traditional English classes have been largely on the basis of the literature. This meant and stillmeans, which have much to read. If you like reading then this is not a problem, but most of the reading, in fact, most are likely to be done in his time. You will be asked to read the literature of different ages and different genre. It is likely that will study prose, poetry and theater. Unlike some others in which there is a strong emphasis on facts to absorb, English is often different because it relies more on your personal responses to what you read.
More recently there has been a growing number of English language courses that are based on various aspects of the English language and linguistics. In courses like this, for example, could be asked to translate a text from one genre to another. There was also a development in writing courses that allow students to write in a language skillfully both creative and functional. Subjects are often associated with English Media Studies and Drama.
The downside to study English in particular in the more traditional courses is the great emphasis on reading. If you are not an avid reader and get a little pleasure to read, then it may be wise for you to think twice before studying English. With the emphasis on personal response and opinion, rather than on facts based on the results, then this can cause problems for some. The requirement to write long essays, is not specific to English. Other issues require projects, thesis, essays and long, but it is unlikely that you expect to write as much as you would study English.
A qualification in English at any level is likely to be an important factor in making job search easier. There are many opportunities for people with the English language at degree level, because its value is recognized in business and the professions.
At one point in its course, will almost certainly be required to make at least one major project. So where to start?
The library of course! Also remember that there is a wealth of information available via the Internet.
The Internet is a great help for all forms of study and if you need information when searching for a project, then there is plenty of it. Information is available on virtually any topic you can name from the search engines and electronic encyclopedias, and the information is made available in large quantities. E 'therefore important to know exactly what you need, what is relevant.
Lots of information will also be advice or just nonsense, touted as knowledge. You must be careful and separate the two. In general, the information is well defined will be in different places or be attributable to a reliable source. Often it is worthwhile to try to verify all the points potentially controversial independent offline. This may take time and effort, the use of the Internet is seen by many as a quick way to get information. Is not. Sufficient time for your project to help verify the facts and to develop their own opinion. Your tutor time is valuable, s / he does not thank you to waste with the waste unverified sources unreliable.
Be selective, to decide what the project requires. Try to be specific and targeted. If the project contains irrelevant information and detail is not likely to be welcomed, so be sure to use only what is necessary to improve your project. Do not make the mistake of copying large extracts from the network, this is not a good idea. More important that the copy of large pieces is that you try to pass off the copy as you do your job. This is plagiarism and is regarded very seriously by the examiners and moderators at all levels of academic study. It is also completely unnecessary since it removes any opportunity for learning.
When you do find the information you require, you must read, understand, and then groped to express in your own words. At first this may difficult for you, but to reach as it is easier to become. You will learn to process information to their advantage.
If the project requires you to enter photographs, pictures or other images that then the internet can be very helpful in providing them and incorporating them into their work. But always make sure to obtain permission to use images. It is unlikely ever to be prosecuted for stealing someone else's intellectual property, but it is a matter of courtesy.
Finally, remember that it is important that the project is presented in a more effective way. It must be coherent, well indexed and easy to read. You can always have a friend to read through in order to proofread and critique your work.
