More than 12.000 Chinese Moslem Do Hajj

More than 12,000 prospective pilgrim group will arrive to carry out hajj. 150 members of the Chinese Hajj missions, including 44 doctors and paramedics, has come to accept them. The first group of pilgrims would land at Hajj Terminal on Saturday.

Chairman of the Islamic Association of China Yang Zhibo Mustafa, who is also a member of the National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, told Arab News, women accounted for two fifths of the Chinese pilgrim candidates. Everything is aged between 35 and 70 and will be vaccinated against H1N1.

Islam established itself as one of the five major religions in China after Islam entered the country 1300 years ago. China, with more than 1.3 billion people, has a Muslim population of 23 million, mainly concentrated in the northwestern province of Xinjiang and Ninxing.

At a meeting of honor at the residence of the Consul General of China Wang Yong, said Zhibo free society to practice the religious beliefs of each. China has some 40,000 mosques and Islamic schools, including 10 major institutions. More than 15,000 active workers in spreading the Islamic message of peace and tolerance.

Recalled the visit Zhibo Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to China recently and said both countries share the same goal - to create a harmonious society. He thanked the King and the Kingdom to provide facilities and enable participants to perform Hajj pilgrimage with ease and comfort.

Islamic Association of China was established on May 11, 1953 in Beijing and representing Chinese Muslims. The National Institute is also conducting Hajj and Umrah for Muslims in this country. Since first established this organization have contributed to government efforts in implementing the policy of religious freedom, the dissemination of Islamic tradition, Muslims unite to participate in the development of the country, fostering friendly relations with Muslims in other countries, and keep the peace. This association has played an important role in maintaining stability in China and in the economic and social development.
